FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
What is Selectorate?+
Selectorate measures how AI coding agents choose between you and your competitors, then fixes what loses you the pick. The name comes from selectorate theory, the group whose support decides who wins power. For software, that group is increasingly the agents.
What does the free first read include?+
A light pass of the pipeline on your product. You see where agents pick you, where they pass, and the transcripts behind it. The complete audit and the retainer take it from there.
What does the audit deliver?+
A report with your selection and execution rates versus named competitors across full scenario coverage, a failure breakdown by cause, and a ranked fix list. Every rate aggregates many scored runs that record whether the agent selected you and whether the integration it built actually ran, verified against a deployed result. Each finding links to the run that produced it.
How do the fixes work?+
Every finding maps to a concrete change. Selection gaps get GEO, SEO, and positioning work; execution failures get rebuilt docs, schemas, tool descriptions, and MCP responses. On retainer we ship the changes, re-run the same scenarios monthly, and report the before/after.
Why can't I just look at my analytics?+
Analytics capture what happens inside your product. The agent's decision happens earlier. It considers, rejects, and switches to a competitor in its own context, and your funnel records nothing. Our pipeline sits where the decision happens and records all of it.
Which agents do you test?+
By default Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex, run in isolated environments against unbranded buying scenarios modeled on your customers' workflows. Enterprise engagements can add more agents and specific model versions.
How is this different from SEO or AEO?+
SEO optimizes for search rankings; AEO optimizes for answer-engine citations. Both target retrieval. We target the decision an agent makes mid-task. Which SDK it installs, which tool it calls, whether it succeeds, and the surfaces that drive it. When the audit shows a selection gap, GEO and SEO become part of the fix.
Do you need access to our code?+
No. We work from your public product surfaces, the docs, quickstarts, package, API, and MCP server. If you want us to fix private surfaces, we scope that separately.
How long does an audit take?+
Most first audits are delivered within one to two weeks, depending on how many scenarios and competitors you want covered.
