Privacy Policy
How Selectorate collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Selectorate website and services.
Effective date: July 15, 2026
Selectorate (the "Company", "we", "us", and "our") is committed to maintaining robust privacy protections for its users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard the information you provide to us and helps you make informed decisions when using our Service.
For purposes of this Privacy Policy, "Site" refers to the Company's website at selectorate.dev; "Service" refers to the Site and the agent-selection audit and improvement services the Company provides; and "you" refers to you, as a visitor to the Site or a user of the Service. By accessing the Site or the Service, you consent to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
What this policy does not cover
This Privacy Policy covers information the Company collects for its own purposes through the Site. It does not cover information we access or evaluate on a customer's behalf while performing audit or improvement engagements — such as a customer's product documentation, APIs, MCP servers, and other product surfaces, or the contents of agent-run transcripts produced during an engagement. We handle that material as the customer's service provider under the terms of the applicable engagement agreement. If your personal information appears in material a Selectorate customer has made available to us, the customer's own privacy policy governs, and requests about that information should go to the customer.
Information we collect
We collect information you submit directly. When you request a free audit, we collect your company name, work email address, product URL, product type, an optional competitor, and any message you include. When you use the contact form or email us, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your communication.
We also collect limited non-personal information automatically. Our hosting provider maintains standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and date and time of access) for security and operations. Our analytics are cookie-less and aggregate: they record page views, referring pages, approximate country, and device and browser type in a way that does not personally identify you.
We do not use cookies, and we do not require you to create an account, choose a password, or submit payment information through the Site. Because we do not track visitors across other websites, there is no cross-site activity for a "Do Not Track" browser signal to opt out of; we do not permit third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time and across unaffiliated websites.
The Site and the Service are not directed to anyone under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have gathered personal information from anyone under 13 without parental or guardian consent, we will delete that information as soon as possible.
How we use and share information
We use the information you submit to prepare and deliver the audit you requested, respond to your inquiries, and communicate with you about the Service. We use aggregate, non-personal analytics information to improve the Site, track trends, and analyze usage patterns.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as "sell" and "share" are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not trade, rent, or disclose your personal information for marketing purposes without your consent.
We share personal information only with service providers performing services on our behalf: website hosting and analytics (Vercel), transactional email delivery (Resend), and email forwarding and mailbox services used to receive and respond to your messages. These providers may access personal information solely to perform those services and only under our direction.
We may also disclose personal information when we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure is reasonably necessary to satisfy a legal process or enforceable governmental request; enforce applicable terms, including investigating potential violations; address fraud, security, or technical concerns; or protect against harm to the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public, as required or permitted by law. If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our assets, your personal information may be among the assets transferred.
How we protect information
We implement security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, including encryption in transit (TLS) for all Site traffic and access controls on the systems where lead information is stored. No system is guaranteed to be perfectly secure, and by using the Service you acknowledge and accept these risks.
How long we keep information
We retain the information you submit for as long as needed to respond to you and, if you become a customer, for the duration of our relationship and any applicable limitation periods. We retain other information only as needed for legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
You may review, update, or correct the personal information you have shared with us, or request that we delete it, by contacting us at audits@selectorate.dev. If you request deletion, we may retain information as described above where retention is required by law. If we ever send promotional email, you may opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message or by contacting us.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (the "Shine the Light" law) permits California residents to request certain information about a business's disclosure of personal information to third parties for those parties' direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal information on the following legal bases: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering one (to prepare the audit you requested and respond to you); our legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the Site and to communicate with business contacts about our services); your consent, where the law requires it, which you may withdraw at any time; and compliance with our legal obligations.
You have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of, or restriction of the processing of your personal information; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; to data portability; and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact us as described below and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. Our service providers may process personal information in the United States and the European Union; where the law requires a transfer mechanism for personal information from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and their UK and Swiss equivalents) as implemented by our service providers.
Links to other websites
The Site may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites or the information or content they contain. If you access another website through our Site, that third party's privacy policy governs your use of that website.
Changes to this policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by placing a prominent notice on the Site, and significant changes will go into effect 30 days after such notice. Non-material changes or clarifications take effect immediately. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
